This place is called Erw Goed Hen Stabl. It means 'the old stable' in Welsh. It's attached to our farmhouse, which is about four hundred years old. We did it up a few years ago. It's in Arthog, which is in Snowdonia.
It's for four people, but there's only one actual bedroom. That bedroom has a double bed. Then there's a sofa bed in the main living space. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The location is quiet. You're in the Snowdonia National Park. You look out over fields and you're very close to the Mawddach estuary. The views are good. You get to use about 85 acres of our smallholding and woodland. There's a bothy and a campfire site you can book if you fancy cooking outside.
We keep bees, chickens, and ducks here. We often have eggs, honey, and beeswax products for sale if you want some.
The nearest shop and pub are in Penmaenpool, about three miles away. Dolgellau is six miles for more shops. Fairbourne and Barmouth beaches are about three miles if you want sand. They're good, long beaches.
For walking, Cadair Idris is four miles away. It's a proper mountain. Coed y Brenin forest is nearby for trails, and it's very good for mountain biking. You can drive to Barmouth in about ten minutes or to Harlech Castle in under half an hour.
In terms of what's there: it's open plan downstairs. There's a woodburning stove, WiFi, a TV, and parking. There's an electric vehicle charger. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot if you need one. You have your own patio and garden area. We don't allow pets.
