Hafan Yr Haul
Hafan Yr Haul is near Arthog, on the southern edge of Snowdonia. It's a detached house, modern. The big thing is the view. It looks south over the Mawddach estuary. You can sit and watch the weather come in off the sea.
It sleeps eight, maybe ten. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and has everything. The layout is upside-down, so the main living area is upstairs to get the view. The stairs are fine, just normal stairs.
Downstairs there's a games room with a multi-game table and a PlayStation. It's got a day bed, so it can be used as an extra sleeping space. There's also a washing machine and an extra fridge in there.
Outside, there are two patio areas. One has a gas barbecue. The garden is enclosed. There's storage for bikes or kit.
You're right on the Mawddach Trail. It's a flat path on an old railway line. You can walk or cycle to Barmouth one way or Dolgellau the other. Barmouth beach is sandy, about a ten minute drive. Fairbourne is similar.
For walking, the Torrent Walk and Precipice Walk are local and good. Cader Idris is the big mountain here. The path up starts about a 15 minute drive away in Minffordd.
If you want to go further, Coed y Brenin forest for mountain biking is about 20 minutes. Portmeirion is roughly half an hour by car. Snowdon itself is about 45 minutes to an hour's drive, depending on which route you're taking.
Facilities: it's got everything on the list. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, Smart TVs, underfloor heating. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for a few cars. No pets.
