Erw Goed Old Barn is near Arthog, just inside the Snowdonia National Park. It's a barn we converted about fifteen years ago. It's detached, so no one else is attached to it. You get the whole place and the garden, which is about half an acre. It looks south over the Mawddach estuary. You can see the sea and Cadair Idris from the front.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen is a decent size. There's a wood burner in the living room. We leave wood for you.
The barn is on an 85-acre farm. You're welcome to walk around the land. There's a bothy you can use and a campfire spot. We've also got a permanent orienteering course set up if that's your thing.
The Mawddach Trail is right on the doorstep. You can walk or cycle it to Barmouth one way or Dolgellau the other. It's flat the whole way. Fairbourne beach is about three miles away for sand. The nearest pub is about three miles, in Arthog. The shop is in Fairbourne, about five miles.
For a day out, Barmouth is lovely and about twelve miles by road. Dolgellau is about twenty minutes drive. You're right in the mountains here for walking. You can be at the foot of Cadair Idris in ten minutes. Snowdonia National Park has all the information for trails and conditions.
Things you might need to know: We take up to two dogs. There's parking for two cars. We've put in an electric vehicle charger. There's a washing machine, WiFi, a cot and a highchair. Bedding and towels are included.
