Brig-Y-Don
Brig-Y-Don is in Llanaber, just outside Barmouth on the North Wales coast. It's a big detached house, but it's split in two. You can rent just this part, which is for six people, or you can book both sides together if you've got more family coming. They each have their own entrances.
This side has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen and dining room look straight out over Cardigan Bay. You can see the sea from there and from the main living room, which has a wood burner. The garden is shared with the other property, but you get your own seating area. It's enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. There's a path from the bottom of the garden that goes down to a railway crossing and then onto the beach. It takes about five minutes.
You can walk along the front into Barmouth. There's a promenade, shops, cafes, and a few pubs. The Mawddach Trail starts there. It's a flat path along the old railway line, good for walking or cycling. You can follow it to Dolgellau.
Within about half an hour's drive, you've got Harlech with its castle, which is Cadw run. There are the steam railways like the Ffestiniog and Talyllyn. If you want something more active, Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog is up that way too.
The facilities are all here. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels included. There's parking on the drive. You can bring up to two dogs.
