Owl Lodge is a holiday lodge in Hartshorne, Derbyshire. It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom, and the main bedroom has an ensuite toilet.
Inside, it's all open plan. Living area, kitchen and dining are in one room. There are French doors out to a big deck that goes around the side. You get a view over the fields. We get deer and hares out there sometimes.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not huge. One bedroom has a standard double bed with the ensuite toilet. The other bedroom has a small double bed, which is 4 foot wide. It's cosy. The main bathroom has a shower.
You're right across the road from Hartshorne Wood, which is part of the National Forest. There are footpaths straight from the gate into the woods and fields. Good for a dog walk.
You can have up to two pets.
In terms of things to do nearby: Staunton Harold reservoir is close for a walk. Calke Abbey is about a 15 minute drive. Donington Park racing circuit is also nearby if that's your thing. The Peak District National Park is roughly 45 minutes by car if you want proper hills.
The local towns are Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Swadlincote. They've got shops, cafes, the usual. There's a pub within walking distance.
For facilities: parking is right outside the lodge. There's WiFi, a TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. The deck has furniture.
