Chestnut Lodge

Chestnut Lodge is on Mercia Marina, near Willington in Derbyshire. It's a detached wooden lodge on a small development. The parking is right next to it.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished. Everything is on one level and the doorways are wide, so it's suitable for wheelchairs.

You get a veranda that goes around three sides. The main doors face southeast for morning sun, and there's a bit at the end that faces southwest for the evening. You look out over the marina. It's very quiet, just boats and birds.

The Marina itself has a walkway with a few shops and a bar and restaurant called The Boardwalk. It's about a five-minute stroll from the lodge. You can sit outside there and watch the boats.

For a proper day out, the Peak District is about 20 minutes drive. Bakewell and Ashbourne are the main towns there. Closer by, you've got Calke Abbey and Kedleston Hall. Chatsworth House is about half an hour away. The National Memorial Arboretum is 15 minutes down the road towards Burton.

Facilities wise: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is your own. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
