Stenson Hill Farm
Stenson Hill Farm is near Derby, a few minutes off the main road but you feel like you're in the middle of the fields. It's detached, and the owners live on the same land but the house and garden are all yours.
It sleeps twenty, which sounds mad but it handles big groups well. Nine bedrooms and six bathrooms, so you're not all queuing in the morning. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and has everything you need.
There's a proper snooker room, which gets a lot of use. You'll all eat together in the conservatory, which is nice and light. Outside there's a big patio and lawn, with a built-in barbecue.
Because of the size, it's good for family get-togethers or groups of friends. You can bring dogs, up to three.
The local shop and pub are about half a mile away, an easy walk. For a day out, Derby is fifteen minutes by car. You've got theatres and restaurants there. Calke Abbey is also really close.
A bit further, you can be in the Peak District quite quickly. Ashbourne and Dovedale are about half an hour. For a big day trip, Alton Towers is under an hour, and places like Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a comfortable drive.
