Beech Tree Lodge
Beech Tree Lodge is in Willington, Derbyshire. It’s inside a gated area by the marina. It’s quiet and you can walk to the boardwalk in a few minutes.
The lodge sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. One has a kingsize bed and a roll-top bath, the other has a double and a single bed. There’s a good sized wardrobe in each room. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well looked after.
It’s a detached lodge, so no shared walls. The main room is open plan, with doors out to your own veranda. There’s a table out there. You look onto a bit of grass and can see the marina from it. It’s nice for watching the birds. Inside there’s a dishwasher, washing machine, and a Smart TV with a fire stick. You use your own accounts for Netflix and things.
The owners leave a cool bag and picnic set you can use. There’s a park with picnic benches a short walk away.
The marina is big, the biggest inland one in Europe they say. The boardwalk has a few shops and a bar that does food. Derby city centre is about six miles away if you need anything.
There are some good National Trust places within half an hour. Calke Abbey and Kedleston Hall are close. Chatsworth is a bit further but well worth the drive. If you’ve got children, the Conkers attraction in the National Forest is about ten miles away.
You can get to the edge of the Peak District easily. Bakewell and Ashbourne are nice for a trip out. Burton-on-Trent is also nearby if you’re interested in the brewing history.
Facilities are all included, bedding and towels too. There’s parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
