The Retreat is one of three barns in a row, near Ticknall. It's got its own drive, so you pull up right outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's all been done to a high standard. Everything's new and clean.
The main living space is all one room, kitchen and sitting area together. Big folding doors open onto the patio and the view over the fields. The kitchen has an island, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
Outside there's an enclosed garden with a patio, some furniture, and a private hot tub.
The village shop and a couple of pubs are about a mile away. Melbourne is close, about ten minutes by car, and has good shops and places to eat.
You're right on the edge of The National Forest. There are walks straight from the door. Calke Abbey is very close, that's a National Trust house with parkland. Staunton Harold Reservoir is nearby too. Mercia Marina at Willington is about four miles, if you like watching the boats.
It's about half an hour's drive to get into the Peak District proper. From there you can get to places like Chatsworth, Bakewell, or Matlock Bath.
No pets, sorry. There's bike storage if you need it.
