Baytree Lodge

Baytree Lodge is one of the Sandbanks Lodges, near Melbourne. It's on one level, which makes it easy. The front door opens straight into the main living area, no steps.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. There's a deck out the front with a table and chairs. You look out over the trees.

Being on one level, it's suitable for someone with limited mobility, but the bathroom isn't specially adapted. The doorways are a standard width.

A footpath from the site goes straight into the National Forest. It's quiet. For a longer walk, you can get to Calke Abbey in about half an hour. The grounds are huge.

Melbourne village is about a mile away. It's got a few shops, a couple of pubs, and some nice old buildings to look at. For a bigger town, Derby is a 20-minute drive.

You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Chatsworth House is about a 30-minute drive. So are Bakewell and Matlock. The Peak District National Park site has good information.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, WiFi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside. No pets.
