No.2 Meynell Mews
No.2 Meynell Mews is in Breedon on the Hill. It's the middle one of three listed townhouse cottages. They were renovated a few years ago, so it's in good condition. It's got a 4 Star rating. The fixtures feel a bit more solid than some places.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, which is handy. There's a garden out the back at the end of the row. You get one parking space on the drive.
You're right in the village. The local pub is about a hundred yards down the road. They do food. There's also a chocolate shop in the same building, if that's your sort of thing. The village shop is a five-minute walk.
It's quiet here, but East Midlands Airport is only about a twenty-minute drive if you're flying in or out. That's useful.
For days out, Calke Abbey is close. It's a National Trust house with a huge park. National Trust Calke Abbey. Willington Marina is about four miles away if you like being by the water. Donington Park, for the racing and music festivals, is just down the road.
The Peak District is about half an hour's drive. You can get to places like Bakewell or Chatsworth House from here without too much fuss. Peak District National Park.
Facilities: it's got broadband, a TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. The entrance is step-free for wheelchair access, but you'd need to check the full layout inside for suitability. You can bring up to two dogs. It's one of three cottages, so you can book them together if you're a bigger group.
