Laurel Lodge
Laurel Lodge is on the Marina at Willington, near Derby. It's detached, so no one next door. You can sit out on the veranda. The view from the main room is over the water and boats, which is nice.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. The master has an en-suite, and there's another bathroom for the other two rooms. The beds have memory foam mattresses. It's a 4 Star, so it's well set up, but don't expect anything too over the top.
From the back door there's level access onto the veranda, which is useful.
The marina is big, the largest inland one in Europe they say. There's a boardwalk about five minutes' walk away with a few shops, a bar, a coffee place and an Indian restaurant. You can sit out there and watch the boats.
For a day out, Calke Abbey is close by. The Peak District is about half an hour's drive to the north. You can get to Chatsworth, Bakewell, or Ashbourne from there.
Alton Towers is about 25 minutes away if that's your sort of thing. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
