Laurel Lodge is in Willington, Derbyshire. It's a detached lodge on the edge of the marina. You can see the water from the big patio doors in the living area. It sleeps six people, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The layout is all open plan downstairs, so you're not cut off from each other while someone's cooking. The back door has level access, which is useful. There's a veranda and a patio area out there. The mattresses are memory foam. Some people love them, some don't. They're good quality.
The marina is big. There's a place called The Boardwalk about five minutes' walk away, with a few shops, a bar, a coffee shop and an Indian restaurant. You can sit and watch the boats from there. There's a sensory garden at the end of it, which is quieter.
For days out, you're quite central. The Peak District is about 30 minutes' drive. You can get to Bakewell or Ashbourne from here easily. Calke Abbey is close by, that's National Trust. Burton-on-Trent has the National Brewery Museum if that's your sort of thing. Melbourne Hall is nearby too. If you've got kids, Alton Towers is within half an hour.
The facilities are what you'd expect: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. You can bring one dog. Parking is right outside.
