Acer Lodge is on the marina at Mercia. It's a three bedroom place, detached and modern. Sleeps six. Two bathrooms, one is in the main bedroom. The living area is open plan. There's a big terrace that goes around two sides. You can sit out there and watch the boats.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's in good condition and comfortable, not just basic. The stairs are internal, so they're fine.
You're right on the marina. The Boardwalk is here too, with shops and a bar. It's about a ten minute walk to the village of Willington. There's a co-op and a few pubs there.
You can walk along the canal towpath from the door. For a proper day out, the Peak District is about twenty minutes drive. Bakewell and Ashbourne are both easy to get to. National Trust Peak District has walking routes.
Loads of big houses nearby if that's your thing. Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, and Chatsworth are all within half an hour. The National Forest is to the south, and Conkers is about ten miles away. Alton Towers is roughly thirty minutes by car.
Facilities: parking right outside. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
