Walnut Lodge is in Willington, Derbyshire. It's a detached lodge that sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well put together.
The living area is open plan, with doors out to a south-facing balcony. It overlooks a lawn. You can sit out there. Both bedrooms have fitted shutters, so they get dark.
It's on Mercia Marina, which is a big inland marina. There's a row of shops and a two-storey restaurant and bar called The Boardwalk. You can sit there and watch the boats. There's a sensory garden at the end of the walkway too.
The lodge is wheelchair accessible at the entrance and has grab rails. There's parking right outside. It comes with a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
For days out, the Peak District is close. Bakewell and Ashbourne are about half an hour's drive. Several National Trust houses are nearby: Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, and Sudbury Hall are all within ten miles. Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth are a bit further.
The National Memorial Arboretum and the National Brewery Centre in Burton-on-Trent are just down the road. The National Forest and Conkers are about ten miles away. Alton Towers is roughly thirty minutes by car.
