Peacock Lodge
Peacock Lodge is in Lower Thurlton, Norfolk. It's a one-bedroom lodge for two people. We've got a 5 Star rating. It's well finished and comfortable.
The main thing is it's private. It's next to our house, but you have your own garden and entrance. No one overlooks you. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We accept up to two.
There's a log-fired hot tub in the garden. It's not covered, so you're out under the sky. You need to light it and wait for it to heat up, which takes a few hours. It's part of the deal.
Inside, it's all open plan. Kitchen, living area, and the bed is on a mezzanine level up a staircase. The stairs are a standard indoor staircase, not a ladder, but they are quite steep. Just so you know.
You're right on the edge of the marshes here. You can walk straight out onto the footpaths. It's very flat. Good for birdwatching or just a long walk. The local pub is about a mile away. They're dog-friendly and do food.
For a day out, the beaches are about half an hour's drive. Great Yarmouth is that way, or you can go up towards Winterton. The Norfolk Broads are on your doorstep. Broads Authority website has maps and information about boat hire. Reedham Ferry is close. It's a chain ferry across the river. There's a pub on the far side.
Norwich is roughly 30 minutes by car. It's good for shopping, the cathedral, that sort of thing. The market towns like Beccles and Bungay are closer, maybe 15-20 minutes. Southwold is about 40 minutes if you fancy the coast.
Facilities: everything's included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a dishwasher, TV, and a cot if you need one. We provide the logs for the hot tub.
