The Old Bakery
The Old Bakery is a flat in Paxton House, near Berwick-upon-Tweed. It's part of the main house, but it's your own place. You get a private entrance.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. We've kept some of the old features, but it's been done up. The stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and turn halfway up.
You're right in the grounds of the estate. The view from the front windows is over fields towards the River Tweed. It's quiet. You can walk straight out into the woods from the door. The Paxton House tearoom is on site and you get a discount on a tour of the house if you want it. The house has some good paintings and furniture.
There's a pub about a mile away in the village. Berwick-upon-Tweed is about four miles. It's an old town with the walls still around it. The coast there is good for walking. The Northumberland Coast is about a ten minute drive. Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are maybe half an hour by car.
Edinburgh is just over an hour away if you drive. It's an easy day trip.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a stairgate if you need them. Parking is right outside the flat.
The place isn't really set up for pets, so we don't allow them.
