This is Little Velvet Hall Cottage in Horncliffe. It's in a row of old cottages where Velvet Hall Station used to be. You're at the end of the row. It's on a bit of a hill, with a gravel driveway.
It's a one bedroom cottage, sleeps four but it's really for two adults, maybe with two children. There's one bathroom upstairs with a bath and a shower over it. The ceiling in there is a bit low, just so you know. The stairs are okay, but they are cottage stairs.
Downstairs is all one room: a living area, a dining space, and the kitchen in the corner. It's got what you need. The kitchen is fine for making meals.
Outside, there's a small enclosed garden at the back. It's private. You can park two cars on the gravel drive.
You're about five miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed. It's a proper historic town with walls you can walk around and a good few pubs. The coast is a short drive. The River Tweed is right nearby for fishing or walks. Norham Castle is close, it's an English Heritage site.
Edinburgh and Newcastle are both about an hour away by car if you fancy a day trip.
For things like bedding and towels, they're included. There's a TV and WiFi. Pets are allowed, up to two. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast websites are useful.
