The Beaches
The Beaches is a modern house in Berwick-upon-Tweed. It sleeps twelve people across five bedrooms.
The main thing is the location. It’s about an eight minute walk to Spittal Beach. You can see the sea from the front.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it’s fitted out to a high standard, it’s very clean, and everything is in good order. It’s spacious, with three bathrooms and a large open kitchen and dining area.
On the lower ground floor there’s a cinema room and a private bar. The garden has a patio with a hot tub. There is on-site parking.
It’s wheelchair accessible on the ground floor. That includes the master bedroom and a wet room. Please note there are open and steep stairs to the lower ground floor.
In Berwick itself, you’ve got the historic town walls and the river. It’s worth looking at the English Heritage site for the barracks. Boat trips leave from the quay.
For a bigger beach day, Bamburgh is about a twenty minute drive south. The castle is there. Holy Island is about a thirty minute drive, including the tidal crossing. You must check the tide timetable.
The wider area is good for walking. The Northumberland Coast Path goes past. There’s golf and fishing locally. For planning, the Northumberland Coast and Country site is useful.
Facilities are all included: WiFi, TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, a washing machine, dishwasher, and bedding. No pets, I'm afraid.
