Maines Farm Cottage is in Chirnside, in the Scottish Borders. It's a little cottage on a farm, so you'll see fields and sometimes donkeys out the windows.
It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms upstairs, both comfortable. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. One is upstairs with a shower over the bath, and there's a boot room downstairs with another shower and toilet. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after.
The living room has a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher. There's a small private garden with a table. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
You're about ten miles from the coast. St Abbs is a good spot for a walk, or you can drive down to the beaches in Northumberland. National Trust Scotland has info on some of the local places.
The village has a shop and a fish and chip shop. There's a hotel a few hundred yards away that does meals, and a local inn. For a bigger shop, Berwick-upon-Tweed is about nine miles away. You can get the bus from outside the cottage.
The train to Edinburgh goes from Reston station, which is in the next village. It takes just over an hour. Driving to Edinburgh is about an hour too.
On the facilities: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
