A great little cottage tucked away in a quiet corner but central for all that Whitby has to offer. The property is in a small row of terraced cottages and is set over three floors. There is a terraced courtyard area to the front and rear of the property and the bonus of two private parking spaces. Just a short stroll and you are right in the centre of the town, with its fishing harbour and long sandy beach which is ideal for children, with traditional donkey rides and shallow waters. The famous Whitby Abbey overlooks the town and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps to the top where you have breath taking views along the spectacular coastline towards Robin Hood’s Bay. This walk forms part of the Cleveland Way leading down towards Scarborough, a fantastic walk along the rugged coastline with stunning views, nature and fauna.
There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a short walk, as well as lots of little independent shops that sell the famous Whitby jet jewellery. Whitby is popular all year round, even in the winter it can be buzzing with people wandering the cobbled streets, there are lots of festivals held in Whitby attracting visitors from all over the world. North of Whitby are the resorts of Sandsend and the quaint fishing village of Staithes: with its narrow streets and pantile cottages, it is often chosen by artists due to it’s quaint charm. The large seaside resort of Scarborough is south of Whitby and well worth a visit for family fun. The cottage is ideally placed to visit the coast, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
