This is Stable Cottage on our farm in Icklesham. It's a converted stable, so it's detached and you've got your own space. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean.
The main room is open plan with a kitchen, sitting area, and a wood burning stove. The ceilings are beamed, which is nice, but you'll need to watch your head in a couple of spots. There's a private garden with a table and chairs. It looks out over the fields.
You're surrounded by our land here. There's a footpath that leads from the garden down through some woods to two lakes. If you're into fishing, you're welcome to use one of them – it's stocked with carp. You might see deer or other wildlife.
The local pub is about a mile away in the village. It serves food. For the coast, Winchelsea Beach is about a ten minute drive. Rye is fifteen minutes away. It's an old town with cobbled streets and places to eat.
If you like walking, the 1066 Country Walk goes right past the cottage. You can follow it all the way to Battle Abbey if you want. For other days out, Bodiam Castle and Hastings are within half an hour. Useful links: National Trust South East and 1066 Country.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
