This is Henry-Oscar House, our place just outside Winchelsea. It's a detached wooden house, built from cedar. You'll see it from the road. It sits at the edge of the fields looking out over the Brede Valley, so the main view is sheep and sky.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor. The living area is open plan and there are big doors that open onto the terrace. The stairs go up to a galleried landing with a balcony door you can step out onto. The stairs aren't steep, but they're open-tread, so just be aware if you've got little kids.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. There's underfloor heating, a wood burner, a dishwasher, wifi, and a hot tub on the terrace.
You can take up to two dogs. We provide bedding and towels.
The location is quiet. It's about a mile's walk into Winchelsea itself, or about ten minutes in the car. There's a good restaurant about 300 yards down the lane. The nearest shop and pub are in the town.
For beaches, Camber Sands is about a 15 minute drive. Winchelsea Beach is closer, maybe 10 minutes. Rye is 10 minutes away in the other direction. It's a nice old town to wander around. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is great for a flat walk and some birdwatching.
Further afield, within half an hour or so, you've got Hastings, the Royal Military Canal for walks, and Battle Abbey. The National Trust's Sissinghurst Castle is about 40 minutes drive if you like gardens.
