The Wagon Lodge

The Wagon Lodge is on my family's farm in Rye Foreign. It's a working farm, sheep and apples mostly. The cottage is one of a few we've got here.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's all on one level, so it's good if steps are a problem. Wheelchair accessible too.

You're on a farm, so you'll see sheep in the fields. There's an orchard you can walk through. The parking is right outside.

It's a quiet spot. The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Rye. Rye's the proper town here. Cobbled streets, old buildings, a few places to eat. It's about a ten minute drive.

If you want the beach, Camber Sands is about six miles. It's that big, golden sandy one. Winchelsea beach is closer, about three miles, but it's more shingle.

Within half an hour you've got a few things. Bodiam Castle and Sissinghurst Castle Garden are that way. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is good for a walk. The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway is up the coast if you like small trains.

Facilities wise: it's all open plan inside. There's a wood burner for when it's cold. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. There's a BBQ outside. You can bring two dogs. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.
