Beehive Cottage

Beehive Cottage is in Wittersham. It's a two-up two-down sort of place, attached at one side. It's in a quiet bit of the village. The garden is mostly to the back.

It sleeps six, but it's two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. One room has a kingsize bed that can be split into two singles, the other is a double. The stairs are mentioned as being steep somewhere on the listing, so I'll confirm that. They're cottage stairs, not wide and not shallow.

Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, table, and living area. There's a wood burner. The doors go out to a patio and then the garden, which has a pond, so you'll want to keep an eye on kids. There's a summer house with a games table and dartboard.

The village has a shop and a park with some outdoor kit for exercise and a play area. There's a bus stop. The local pub is shut at the moment, I don't know when it might reopen. For a pub, you'd need to drive or get the bus.

Tenterden is about four miles away. That's got shops, cafes, and the Kent & East Sussex Railway steam trains. Rye is about eight miles, it's an old town with cobbled streets. The beach at Camber Sands is eight miles, so about a twenty minute drive. Great for sand dunes.

You're in the High Weald area, so it's good walking country with lots of small lanes and woods. Sissinghurst Castle Garden is half an hour away.

For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
