The Quarter House is on the edge of the old town in Rye. It's a two-up, two-down terraced cottage, white painted brick. The front door opens straight onto the pavement.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a shower. You can bring one dog. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The stairs are fairly steep. There's a stairgate at the bottom if you need it. The living room has a wood burning stove. We leave some logs to get you started. The layout is open plan on the ground floor.
You can walk into the centre of Rye in about five minutes. The famous cobbled Mermaid Street and the church are there. The views from St. Mary's Church tower are very good. You can see for miles.
For a proper beach, Camber Sands is about ten minutes away by car. It's a long, sandy beach. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is closer, maybe five minutes drive. It's good for flat walks and birdwatching. The National Trust looks after it.
Within half an hour you can get to Battle Abbey, Sissinghurst Castle Garden, or Bodiam Castle. Hastings is about twenty minutes along the coast.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot, bedding and towels are included. There's satellite TV and wifi. Parking is on the street. It's usually fine to find a space close by.
