Thornsdale Oast House
It's Thornsdale Oast House, in Iden. It's a converted oast house, so you get the roundels. It's detached and on its own, down a long track. It sleeps ten, five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. Because it's an old building, some of the ceilings are quite low in places, and doorways too. Just be mindful if you're tall.
It's completely rural, surrounded by fields. The garden is yours to use and it's enclosed. There's a games room in one of the roundels, with a pool table. It's got fibre broadband, which works well. You can bring two dogs. The woodshed is stocked for you.
There's a public footpath right from the drive that takes you out into the countryside. For a pint, there's a local pub a mile away in the village. The nearest proper shops are in Rye, about three miles.
Rye is the main place to go. It's an old town on a hill with cobbled streets. There's a market on Wednesdays. Camber Sands beach is about a twenty minute drive. For a day out, Battle Abbey is about half an hour. Hastings is similar. The Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is good for walks and birdwatching.
If you like gardens or castles, there are a few National Trust places within thirty minutes or so. Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Bodiam Castle, and Scotney Castle are the main ones.
For facilities: it's got the washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wood burner, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking right outside.
