Prospect Cottage
This is Prospect Cottage on The Stocks. The Stocks is a hamlet outside Rye. It's a pair of old brick and flint cottages and you get the one on the right.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. The rating is 4 Star. It means it's been done up well. The floors are mostly coir matting, which is practical. There's a wood burner for the winter.
The stairs go straight up from the living room. They're steep and narrow, like in most old cottages. Just be aware.
You get a private garden out the back. It's enclosed. There's a shared grass tennis court on the land, if you fancy a game.
It's quiet here. You're looking out over fields and a bit of woodland. There's a local pub a few minutes walk away.
Rye is about three miles. You can walk there along the river if you want, but most people drive. Camber Sands is ten minutes away by car. Good for a big beach walk or if you're into kitesurfing. If you're planning days out, I'd look at the National Trust and Visit South East England websites.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.
