The Pod At Egmont
The Pod is on our small farm just outside Northiam. It's a wooden cabin on a concrete slab, detached, in the middle of a five acre field. You get the field to yourselves. It's very quiet, apart from the sheep and our chickens.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's open plan, so the living area and kitchen are all one space.
There's a TV and decent WiFi, which is good because phone signal out here is patchy. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right next to the pod. There's no washing machine on site, but we can usually help out if you need one.
It's a proper rural spot. The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Northiam village. For a bigger shop, Rye is about ten minutes by car. It's an old town with cobbled streets and good places to eat. The coastline at Camber Sands is about twenty minutes drive. It's a huge beach, great for walking.
If you like steam trains, the Kent and East Sussex Railway station is a fifteen minute walk down the lane. You can get it to Bodiam Castle or into Tenterden. Bodiam Castle is a proper moated castle, run by the National Trust. Great Dixter house and gardens are close by too, about five minutes in the car.
