Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is in Pett village. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the wall. The garden is yours to use. It's set back a bit from the road and the main view is over farmland.
It sleeps nine people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been refurbished, so it's in good shape. It's spacious, works well for two families sharing.
The stairs are fine. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the driveway. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
Right opposite the cottage is a village shop, which is also the post office. Next to that is a tea room. There are two pubs in the village that do food.
The beach is about a mile away. It's a shingle beach, good for rock pools. If you want sand, Camber Sands and its dunes are a short drive. The town of Rye is nearby. It's medieval, lots of antique shops and places to eat. Winchelsea village is pretty too.
For days out, Hastings and its caves are close. Battle Abbey is near Hastings. The Kent & East Sussex Railway steam trains run from Tenterden. There are several National Trust places within easy reach, like Bodiam Castle and Batemans.
There's good walking from the door, both inland and on the coast. You often see people walking through the village to the pub.
