Bay House

This is Bay House in Hastings. It’s in a row on a quiet street, houses on one side only. You look out over the rooftops towards the sea. It’s a three bedroom place and sleeps five.

You get one bathroom. It’s got a walk-in shower over the bath. The rating is 4 Star, so it’s comfortable and well looked after. There's parking right outside.

The upstairs bedrooms catch a lot of light. You can see the sea from the front windows. The street is very quiet.

You can walk into the Old Town in about ten minutes. That’s where all the eating places are, and the antique shops. Hastings Castle and the caves are up there too. The Blue Reef aquarium is on the seafront, which is a five minute walk downhill. There’s a local shop about 500 yards away, and a pub even closer, about 300 yards.

For a bigger beach with proper dunes, Camber Sands is about half an hour’s drive. Rye, which is an old medieval town, is in that direction too. Both are worth a trip. If you want to walk, the 1066 Country Walk is along the coast here. The website has good route information.

Facilities wise, it’s all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, woodburning stove for cooler evenings. WiFi and TV. We include all the bedding and towels. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them, and a stairgate at the top of the stairs. We can take one well-behaved dog.
