Seagull's Nest
Seagull's Nest is a cottage in Hastings Old Town. It looks directly out over the sea. Every window has a sea view.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. It's a clean, comfortable place, not a luxury one. The stairs are steep because it's an old cottage. You'll need to be okay with that.
It's right on a quiet street but everything is close. You're about a minute's walk from the beach, the fishing huts, and the boats. There's a small independent cinema 150 yards away. Pubs, cafes, and restaurants are all within a hundred yards or so.
The cottage is directly opposite the house used as Foyle's in the TV series. People who like the show often notice that. Filming was done right here.
You can walk east along the coast path from the door. East Hill is five minutes away for clifftop walks. For a longer walk, Fairlight Glen is about two and a half miles along the cliffs. The path goes on to Rye from there.
In Hastings itself, you've got the castle, the Jerwood Gallery, and the Stade with its fishing fleet. Further out, places like Battle Abbey, Rye, and Herstmonceux Castle are within a 30-minute drive. It's about 90 minutes to London by train.
Facilities include a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and bedding and towels are provided. There's no parking with the cottage, but there are public car parks nearby. No pets.
