Hayfield Haven

Hayfield Haven is on Hillcroft Farm, near Crowhurst in East Sussex. It's a single pod up on the farm. You take a short path from the parking spot to get to it.

It sleeps two. One double bed in an open plan area and the main sofa can be made into a second bed if needed. It has a 5 Star rating. It feels new and well looked after. The big glass wall at the front faces out over the fields.

Inside, it's one open space with the living area, a small kitchen corner, and the bed at the back. The kitchen has a fridge, a microwave, and a two-ring hob. There's a round table to eat at. Outside, there's a fire pit with a barbecue griddle and seating.

The farm itself is arable, about a thousand acres. You'll see tractors about. It's quiet, and there's very little light pollution, so the stars are good on a clear night.

There's a local pub you can walk to. Crowhurst has a train station with services to London. The Coombe Valley Nature Reserve is right next to the farm, with footpaths and a cycle path.

Battle is about a ten minute drive. It's got shops, cafes, and the Battle Abbey site, which is run by English Heritage. The coast at Hastings and St Leonards is about a twenty minute drive. They have the pier, beaches, and amusements.

Further out, within about half an hour, you've got places like Bodiam Castle, Rye with its cobbled streets, and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. There's a supermarket about seven minutes away by car.

Facilities include bedding and towels, WiFi, on-site parking, and a cot and highchair if needed. One well-behaved dog is allowed. You can book it with the other pod on the farm, Lakeview Lodge, if you need space for more people.
