Twisly North Lodge

Twisly North Lodge is in Catsfield. It’s set back from the road, at the edge of some woods. The place feels very private. You drive in through electric gates onto about an acre and a third of garden.

It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating. It was done up a few years ago so everything is in good order and it’s comfortable. There’s a main bedroom upstairs with a small balcony overlooking the garden. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a four-poster bed.

The sitting room is large. There’s a TV with Netflix and surround sound, and a Nintendo Classic console. The walls have paintings by local artists. There’s superfast broadband if you need it.

The garden is the main thing. It’s long, about 300 feet, and ends at ancient woodland. You often see deer and woodpeckers. Right outside the back there’s a big paved terrace with outdoor furniture and a covered area with a hot tub. Further down there’s a wood-fired pizza oven and a firepit. There’s also an all-weather table tennis table.

The local pub is about half a mile walk. It’s a proper village pub. The shop is about the same distance.

You’re in a good spot for getting around. Battle is very close. You can visit Battle Abbey and the 1066 battlefield site. Hastings and the seafront is about a fifteen minute drive. Rye is about half an hour. Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes, and Tunbridge Wells are all within about forty minutes by car. There are several vineyards in the area if you’re interested.

In terms of what’s here: there’s a dishwasher, washing machine, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. The property is wheelchair accessible at the entrance. There’s parking on site. No pets, sorry.
