The Garden Flat
This is The Garden Flat in Hastings. It's a one-bedroom flat for two people, with a 5 Star rating. The entrance is down a few steps at the side of the main house, so it's all yours.
It's a basement flat, but it's been done up well. It gets light from the patio doors at the back. The decor is a bit quirky, we used local bits and pieces. There's a washing machine and the bedding and towels are included.
Out the back, the patio garden is private. It's got a table and chairs and some plants. It's a sun trap in the afternoon.
The flat is in St Leonards, just off the seafront. There's a local shop about five minutes walk away. The nearest pub and a couple of restaurants are even closer, maybe three minutes.
The beach and the promenade are about a fifteen minute walk. You can walk all the way along to Hastings Old Town from there. The pier, the amusements, all of that. The Old Town is good for fish and chips and there are plenty of pubs. The Battle of Hastings battlefield and abbey are about twenty minutes drive inland.
If you're driving, the countryside around here is nice. Bodiam Castle is about half an hour away. Eastbourne and Beachy Head are in the other direction, also about thirty minutes.
