Lakeview Lodge is a building, a pod really, on our farm in Crowhurst. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-insulated and fitted out to a high standard, not that it's huge. It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms: one king size bed in the main space, and a separate room with three singles. One bathroom with a shower.
You have your own parking spot. There's an outdoor seating area with a fire pit and a griddle for barbecues. We allow one well-behaved dog.
The view from the windows is over our fields and a lake in the distance. It's a working arable farm, so you'll see the crops. It's quiet at night, good for star gazing.
The pod is right by a public footpath that leads down into Coombe Valley Nature Reserve. Good for walks or cycling. Crowhurst village has a train station and a pub within walking distance.
Battle is about ten minutes away by car. It's got Battle Abbey, which is the site of the 1066 battle. There are shops and cafes there too. English Heritage Battle Abbey.
The coast at Hastings is a fifteen to twenty minute drive. Beach, pier, that sort of thing.
For other days out within half an hour, there's Bewl Water for sailing and walks, Bodiam Castle, and Bateman's, which was Rudyard Kipling's house.
Inside, it's all open plan aside from the kids' room. There's a sofa bed in the living area, a dining table, and a kitchen with a dishwasher. Wi-Fi is included. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You can book it together with the other pod, Hayfield Haven, if you're a larger group.
