Apple Cottage is one of a pair on our small holding here near Sedlescombe. We've got sheep and pigs in the fields. It sleeps two.
It's an old cow byre, so there are beams. It's been converted, but the ceiling is low in the entrance hall, just so you know. The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are a ship's ladder, which is like a steep staircase with narrow treads. You need to be steady on your feet. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.
You've got your own bit of garden, enclosed, with a patio and a barbecue. There's parking right outside.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a kitchen area, a place to sit, a TV, and WiFi. There's a washing machine. Up on the mezzanine is the double bed and the shower room. We provide all the bedding and towels. You can bring a cot and highchair for a baby.
You're welcome to bring up to two dogs. There's a children's play area on site, just a simple swing and slide.
The village is about a ten minute walk across the fields. There's a shop and a good pub there by the green. For a bigger shop, Battle is about ten minutes by car.
From here, you can walk straight onto the 1066 Country Walk. Battle Abbey and the battlefield are very close. Hastings and the coast are about twenty minutes' drive. Rye is maybe half an hour. Camber Sands is a bit further, probably forty minutes.
If you like steam trains, the Kent & East Sussex Railway runs from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle. Both are worth a visit.
