The Challoners

The Challoners is in Robertsbridge. It's two wooden cabins in a field, with your own garden around them. One cabin is for sleeping and bathing, the other is for living. It's detached and private.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished. The bed is a good double. There's a roll-top bath in the ensuite and a separate walk-in shower in the living cabin. Underfloor heating throughout.

There's no television. The owners left it out on purpose. You get books and games instead.

The garden is enclosed, which is good as it's dog friendly. You can have two dogs. There's a covered picnic table, a BBQ, and a fire pit.

You're on the edge of the owners' land. There are footpaths through about 300 acres, including 50 acres of their woodland. They say there's a large badger sett there.

Robertsbridge village is a mile away. It has a shop and a couple of dog-friendly pubs. There's a farm shop in the village for basics, they can deliver if you order ahead.

Bodiam Castle is about three miles away. It's a proper moated castle. For a different day out, Kent and East Sussex Railway runs steam trains from there to Tenterden. Bewl Water is seven miles for sailing and walks. Hastings and the coast is about a 20 minute drive. Rye is about half an hour.

Facilities wise: all bedding and towels are included, there's parking right there, and WiFi. Everything is included in the price.
