Ox Lodge Barn

Ox Lodge Barn is in Brightling. It's a single storey barn converted into a house. It's good for someone who can't do stairs, or uses a wheelchair. If you're coming from London, Robertsbridge station is five minutes away by car, about an hour and ten minutes on the train.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. That's the main thing, really. Everything is on one level. The bedrooms are at either end, with the living room and kitchen in the middle, so you get a bit of privacy.

Outside there's a big, enclosed yard. You can shut the gate, so it's fine for dogs or kids to run about. The view is over fields.

The property has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. There's a woodburning stove for winter, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.

You can bring up to two dogs.

The local shop and pub are about two and a half miles away. For walking, you're in the High Weald, so there are good paths right from the door. If you want to fish, you can arrange carp fishing on the estate. Birdwatching too, with a local guide.

Batemans, Rudyard Kipling's old house, is nearby. Battle Abbey is about ten minutes' drive. The historic bit of Rye is half an hour. Tunbridge Wells is also half an hour. Brighton is about forty-five minutes if you fancy the coast.

There's another barn on the estate called Coblye Barn, a mile from this one. You can book both together if you've got a bigger group, up to seven people.
