Ox Lodge Barn is in Brightling. It’s a single-storey converted barn. That means no stairs at all, which is good for wheelchairs or if you just don't fancy steps. Everything’s on one level.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the place, so you get a bit of privacy. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable.
You get a decent sized yard out the front. You can shut the gate if you’ve got dogs or kids with you. It’s a quiet spot, just fields and trees.
The local pub and shop are about two and a half miles away in Robertsbridge. Robertsbridge station is five minutes in the car. You can get a train to London from there in just over an hour.
For walks, you're right in the High Weald. The views are very good. If you want fishing, you can arrange to use the estate's carp pond. A local chap does birdwatching trips too, if you book it.
Battle, with the abbey, is about ten minutes’ drive. Rye is half an hour. Royal Tunbridge Wells is also half an hour. Batemans, Rudyard Kipling's old house, is nearby. Brighton's about 45 minutes if you fancy the coast.
It’s got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a BBQ outside.
