Swallows Barn
Swallows Barn is a converted barn out near Ponts Green in East Sussex. It's detached, so it's just you and the garden. The view is over fields. It's quiet.
It sleeps four, across two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms too, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a comfortable place, not a show home. You get the essentials: a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi and a washing machine. There's parking right there.
The owners live next door in an old thatched cottage. They keep some Golden Guernsey goats on the land. You get your own space but you'll see the goats and hear the birds.
The barn is in what's called the High Weald, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are footpaths straight from the door if you want to walk. The local pub is about two miles away. The nearest shop is two and a half miles.
Battle Abbey and the 1066 battlefield site are close by. Bodiam Castle is a stunning moated castle and worth seeing. It's all managed by the National Trust. If you're into steam trains, the Kent and East Sussex Railway and the Bluebell Railway are both nearby.
For the coast, Eastbourne is about 15 miles. Brighton is 30 miles. Tunbridge Wells is 18 miles if you want more of a town.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a highchair if you need it. All bedding and towels are included.
