Cedar Lodge

Cedar Lodge is a single-storey lodge in the village of Cowbeech. It's detached, sits in our garden, and has a clear view over the fields. It's for two people.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's open plan inside, with the kitchen, dining and sitting area all in one room. The sofa reclines. There's one bedroom and the bathroom is en-suite.

Outside, there's a covered deck area with chairs. It's a bit sunken, so you go over a little bridge to get to it. It's good in most weather. There's a large Koi pond right next to it. You're welcome to feed the fish. There's a chiminea you can use in the sheltered bit.

The village pub is about 50 yards away. It's a proper old building from the 1600s. They do food. The nearest shop is two miles away in Heathfield.

There are footpaths straight from the door for walking. The Cuckoo Trail is nearby for longer walks or cycling. You can hire bikes locally. Herstmonceux Castle and Michelham Priory are both about a 15 minute drive away if you like gardens and history.

The south coast is about a half hour drive. Eastbourne, Beachy Head, and the Seven Sisters are all in that direction. If you want a vineyard tour, there are a few in the Weald, like Rathfinny near Alfriston, but you need to book ahead.

Included in the lodge: all bedding and towels, WiFi, a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking right outside. There's a BBQ too. It's a no smoking property. We don't allow pets.
