Boreham Bridge Barn is a detached barn conversion on the B2192. It's on a main road, so you do get traffic noise, especially in the mornings. The owner's house is next door. You get the whole barn and garden to yourselves though.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. One of the bathrooms and a bedroom are on the ground floor, and it's all flat from the parking area to the front door, so it works if you need easier access.
The place has some history to it. When they did some work here in 2008, they found old timbers and bits of pottery. Some of it is on display inside. The site was a sort of jetty back when the coast was much closer.
For getting out, it's good. The 1066 Country Walk is right there on the doorstep. You can walk to Pevensey Castle and see where William the Conqueror landed. Battle Abbey and the town of Battle are about ten minutes away by car. Herstmonceux Castle is close too.
The coast is about a fifteen minute drive. Hastings is that way, with the old town and the pier. Eastbourne is at the foot of the South Downs. If you want a big sandy beach, Camber Sands is about half an hour away.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for a couple of cars on the gravel drive.
