Boreham Bridge Barn
This is Boreham Bridge Barn. It's our place in Boreham Street. It's a converted barn, so it's a big open space inside. Detached, so you're on your own, but we live next door if you need anything.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one of those is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. It's also wheelchair accessible on the ground floor.
It's on a main road, so there is traffic noise during the day. It quietens right down at night. You've got your own garden and parking.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. All the bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
The history here is the interesting bit. They found old timbers and pottery when they dug the site. Some of the pieces are on display in the barn. It was a Saxon landing spot, back when the coast was closer.
For getting out, you're right on the 1066 Country Walk. Battle Abbey and the town are a short drive. Pevensey Castle and Herstmonceux Castle are nearby. The Kent and Sussex Steam Railway is worth a trip, it goes to Bodiam Castle.
The coast is about eight miles. Hastings has the old town and pier. Eastbourne is at the foot of the South Downs. Camber Sands has a huge beach. If you want to go to London, you can get the train from Battle.
There's a shop, pub, and restaurant about a mile and a half away. For more information about the area, the South Downs National Park site is useful.
