Moorhens

Moorhens is a detached cottage in Herstmonceux. It's on a 37 acre plot we own, which has an orchard. You share the grounds with a couple of other holiday lets, but there's plenty of space. The main thing is the view. It looks out over fields.

It's a 4 Star property. It's for two people. One bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Everything is on one level, so there are no stairs. The ceilings are sloped with Velux windows, so it's bright and you can see the sky at night.

There's a kitchen with a washer/dryer and dishwasher. A table inside and a seating area outside. The place has an air conditioning unit that does heat as well, so it's comfortable in summer or winter.

Herstmonceux village is about a mile and a half away. It has a shop, a pub, and places to eat. The castle and the Observatory Science Centre are there. Herstmonceux Observatory is good if you have kids, or if you're just interested.

For walking, you can start right from the door. Battle is about a fifteen minute drive. You've got Battle Abbey and the town there. If you need a big supermarket, Hailsham is ten minutes away.

The coast is about twenty minutes by car. Eastbourne has the pier and the beach. Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters cliffs are a bit further along.

You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the cottage. WiFi and TV are there.

If you're coming with more people, you can book Moorhens together with Chilsham Barn, the Shepherd’s Hut, and Badgers. That sleeps eight in total.
