The Shepherd's Hut

It's called The Shepherd's Hut. It's on our farm near Herstmonceux. It's just for two people.

It is a shepherd's hut, so it's one room. You've got a double bed, a small kitchen area, and a shower room. It's well insulated and there's a wood burner. We keep it clean and it's got a 4 Star rating. The wifi works.

Outside, there's a deck with a table and chairs. The view is over our fields. You can walk around the farm, about 37 acres in total. We've got sheep, chickens, ducks, and geese. There's a fenced pond about 30 yards from the hut.

You can drive right up to it on a hard track to drop your bags off. There are stepping stones to the door.

Herstmonceux has a few things nearby. The Observatory Science Centre is good if you've got kids, or even if you don't. Herstmonceux Castle and its gardens are nice for a walk. The nearest shop and pub is about a mile and a quarter away.

The coast is about eight miles. Pevensey Bay is the closest beach. Battle and Rye are within half an hour's drive if you want to do some sightseeing. For longer walks, the 1066 Country Walk goes through here. You can get information on that from the official site.

We allow one well-behaved dog. There's parking right there. All bedding and towels are included.
