Glyndley Manor Cottage
Glyndley Manor Cottage is a bungalow in Hankham, near Polegate. It's detached, which means it's just you in there. It's set in the grounds of the Glyndley Manor Estate, so there are fields and woods to look at.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One double and one twin. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a good standard. Open plan living area, with a kitchen at one end.
It's a bungalow, so no stairs to worry about. You get a private garden at the back with a patio. There's on-site parking.
On the estate itself, there's a fishing lake. You need an Environment Agency rod licence. There's also a swimming pool you can use in the summer months, it's fenced in. There’s a children’s play area too.
The grounds have woodland walks, and you can get onto the Cuckoo Trail from there. That's good for a walk or a bike ride.
For beaches, you're looking at about five miles to get to the coast. Eastbourne is less than ten minutes by car. They’ve got the town centre and the pier there. For the famous cliffs, Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters are a short drive away. You can walk along the top there.
Further inland, Ashdown Forest is about half an hour's drive. That’s the area that was the inspiration for Winnie-the-Pooh. Drusillas zoo park is about 25 minutes away.
Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
