Dougies Retreat is a bungalow in Pevensey Bay. It's semi-detached and all on the ground floor, so no stairs to worry about. You get the whole place and garden to yourselves.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and everything works. It's been modernised.
The sunroom looks out over the garden. It's a proper suntrap in there. The garden's enclosed and there's a patio with a BBQ. Parking is off the road, right outside.
You can walk to the beach. It's shingle, so you might want beach shoes. The water's shallow for a good way out, which is good for kids. There's fishing along the shore if that's your thing.
The local shop is a few minutes walk. There's a pub within a mile. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Pevensey or Eastbourne.
Eastbourne is about a twenty minute drive. They've got the pier, the Towner gallery, and the theatres. The South Downs National Park starts just inland from here. Good for walking. Beachy Head is spectacular.
Herstmonceux Castle is about twenty minutes away, with its science centre and gardens. Battle Abbey and the 1066 battlefield site are roughly half an hour north.
In the bungalow you've got a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
