Dougies Retreat
Dougies Retreat is a bungalow on a quiet road in Pevensey Bay. It's semi-detached, so you'll have neighbours on one side. It's not glamorous but it's solid and clean, and got a 4 Star rating.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. Everything's on one floor, which is handy. There's a sunroom on the back which looks out onto the garden. The garden is decent sized, with a patio and a BBQ. Parking is off-road right outside.
You're about three minutes walk from the beach. It's shingle, so you might want shoes. The sea is very shallow for a long way out, which is good for kids paddling. The town has the basics: a shop, a couple of cafes, fish and chips. The local pub is about a 15 minute walk.
For a bigger beach day, drive to Eastbourne. The promenade is about seven miles. Hastings Old Town is interesting, that's about twelve miles. If you like castles, Pevensey Castle is just up the road. It's an English Heritage site.
Further afield, Brighton is about half an hour by car if the traffic isn't bad. The South Downs are right there for walking.
Inside, there's a washing machine, wifi, and all the bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
