Chilsham Barn is in Herstmonceux, East Sussex. It's a barn conversion on our farmland, it's detached and you get the bit of garden and orchard around it just to yourselves. The place is surrounded by fields with our sheep and poultry.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The stairs are a feature, they're open-tread oak, but they are quite steep. It's something to be aware of.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a washing machine. It has underfloor heating and a wood burner for cooler days. There's a TV with Netflix, and WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
For being outside, there's a seating area and a barbecue. You've got good views over the farmland from there.
Locally, Herstmonceux Castle and its observatory grounds are worth a visit. The coast at Pevensey Bay or Norman's Bay is about a 15-minute drive. Eastbourne and its seafront is roughly half an hour. If you're into walking, the South Downs are right on the doorstep. For a longer day out, Rye and Hastings are both within about 40 minutes.
