Hale Barn is on our farm in East Sussex, near Hale Green. It's a listed timber barn, about 250 years old. Detached, so it's on its own. You look out over our fields.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
It's a working farm, 56 acres. You're welcome to meet the animals. We've got donkeys, ponies, goats, rare breed pigs, and sheep. The kids can help feed the chickens if they like.
The barn has got a lot of the old beams and vaulted ceilings. There's a log burner for cooler evenings. The dining table seats eight comfortably. Outside, there's a patio, a covered veranda area, and a hot tub.
You need to know the stairs are fairly steep and a bit narrow in places. They're original. Just take care on them.
The village shop and a pub are about a mile away. The coast at Eastbourne is around 20 minutes by car. Brighton is about 35 minutes.
For walking, you're right on the Weald Way path and at the top of the Cuckmere Valley. The South Downs National Park is on the doorstep. The Cuckoo Trail, which is good for cycling, is nearby.
Days out locally might be Drusillas Zoo, Herstmonceux Observatory, or Michelham Priory. Fishing and golf are available close by.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
