Hale Barn Hale Green

Hale Barn is a 250 year old converted timber barn on our farm in Hale Green. It's detached, so you've got your own space. The main thing you'll see from the windows is fields. It's peaceful.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms over two floors. There are two bathrooms, one en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's kitted out to a high standard.

Being an old barn, the ceilings are high and there are a lot of beams. Mind your head in a couple of places. The stairs to the galleried landing are open and a bit steeper than modern ones, just so you know.

It's a working farm, about 56 acres. You're welcome to meet the animals. We've got sheep, pigs, goats, and some donkeys. You can help feed the chickens if you like.

The garden has a patio with seating and a barbecue. There's a hot tub under a covered veranda. The dining table inside is solid oak and seats everyone.

Practical things: parking for two cars right outside. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.

The local pub is about a mile away in Chiddingly. It does food. The nearest shop is about the same distance.

For walks, you can pick up the Weald Way or the Cuckoo Trail straight from the farm. The South Downs National Park is very close. The coast at Eastbourne is about 20 minutes by car. Brighton is about 35 minutes.

If you're planning days out, National Trust Sussex has good information. Places like Michelham Priory or Herstmonceux Observatory are within half an hour.
