Duke Of Wellington Hq

The Duke Of Wellington HQ is my apartment in the Old Town in Hastings. It's a first-floor flat in a listed building on the High Street. It's not a normal holiday let. It's decorated with antiques, like a museum piece. Some of the things are for sale.

It sleeps five, in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. Both bedrooms are en-suite. One bedroom has a king-size bed. The other has a single day bed, but we can put another single in there to make a twin, just ask. There's also a sofa bed in the living room. We're pet friendly, two are allowed.

The flat is on three floors inside, so there are stairs. They're narrow, cottage stairs, and one set is a spiral. It's worth noting.

You're right in the middle of the Old Town. The beach, pubs, restaurants, and all those little shops are a few minutes' walk away. You don't need to drive once you're here. The station is about a 20-minute walk if you're coming by train.

There's no private parking. You'll need to use the public car parks. Rock-a-Nore and Pelham Place are the closest, but you pay. There's some free on-street parking a bit further out, or restricted parking.

It's good for the festivals. The Jack-in-the-Green, Fat Tuesday, that kind of thing, all happen right outside. The funicular railway up to the castle is a short walk. The pier is down on the seafront.

Within half an hour you can drive to Rye, which is nice, or Eastbourne. Camber Sands is about 40 minutes if you want a big sandy beach.

Everything’s included: bedding, towels, wi-fi, TV. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. We leave a breakfast hamper and some local information for you.
