Gamekeepers Hide
Gamekeepers Hide is on the Colmer Estate near Brownston. It's a two-bedroom cottage on a managed site, so it feels a bit private but you'll have neighbours around. Sleeps four, one bathroom.
The cottage itself is a 3 Star. It's clean and practical. The living space is all open plan. The kitchen does the job. The bedrooms are one double and one twin.
You get a private patio with a table and chairs. It's enclosed, so it's safe for a dog if you bring one.
The main thing here is the on-site facilities. There's an indoor pool and an outdoor one for summer. A small gym, a tennis court, a games room, and a fishing lake. There's a kids' play area and a walled garden. It's all there if you want it.
For the area, you're in the South Hams. Bigbury-on-Sea and Bantham beach are about 15 minutes drive for sand and sea. Salcombe and Dartmouth are both within half an hour for a look around the towns and harbours.
Dartmoor is about a 25 minute drive north if you want proper walking. The coast path is accessible from a few spots along the coast nearby.
