Maple Barn
Maple Barn is in Mellis, Suffolk. It’s a converted barn, detached. It’s just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom.
It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s comfortable and well finished. It’s all on the ground floor, so no stairs. The main room feels quite spacious because of the high ceiling. There’s a king size bed, a walk-in shower, and a dishwasher. You can bring one dog.
Outside, there’s a private, enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. You park right next to the barn.
The barn sits at the edge of some woods and fields. An old drovers path, Cowpasture Lane, runs past the gate. If you turn left it leads to the village. Turn right and you’re on the paths into Thornham Woods. There are miles of trails there. You often see deer, hares, and red kites.
The village of Mellis has a pub. So do Thornham Magna and Eye, which are a short drive away. Eye has shops and a Norman castle mound you can visit. Eye Castle has more information.
For a day out, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds are about 40 minutes by car. The coast at Southwold is roughly half an hour’s drive.
